Ayrshire Classics Car Club was formed in 2004 from the local MG owners club. We still have a number of members who run MGs, but to encourage owners of other types and save any arguments on whether a car is a classic or not, we settled on 'If you think that your car is a classic, then it is'. And so folks in the Club have cars of many different marques that date from the early days of motoring - one member has a vehicle that is 100 years old - to, well not quite the present day. Our common bond is a love of historic cars and the enjoyment of each other's company.
We hold a meeting in Kingcase Parish Church hall on the second Thursday of the month and take our cars to shows across the country. We also enjoy showing our cars at interesting locations on our own; for example at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Culzean Castle. Of course the social side of the Club is also very important to us. We hold dinners and gatherings as well as visiting various interesting venues. We have taken cars to local schools and homes and the program tends to expand as the season develops.
There is a place for all owners of classic cars and we encourage the involvement of partners.
